We've tried our best to sum up the services here, but the best way for you to see what their like is by coming along! Why not join us at one of our services or events?
At St Andrew's we have a very wide selection of Sunday morning services throughout a month. Below is an basic model of a typical month's Sunday morning services.
All Age Worship A chance for the entire family to come and worship in a fun and focused environment. This monthly service attracts both young and old alike, establishing a union between the Christian family here at St Andrew's. Why not join us in this special time of study and worship? Holy Communion Holy Communion is usually shared on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at St Andrew's. This ceremony is always carried out with the importance in that which it symbolises, offering bread and wine (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), or a blessing to anybody wishing to receive it. On the fourth Sunday of every month, the whole family joins in communion as the Childrens' groups finish early and join the entire congregation in the church. Morning Prayer This is a time of reflection, study and direct prayer. The Morning Prayer service provides an opportunity for prayer of all types, including global, national, domestic and individual prayer. St Andrew's also offers a number of Prayer Groups, which can be found here. St Andrew's also has many Childrens' Groups which meet each Sunday morning, and at other times in the week. The Children's groups meet in church on Sundays, then leave for their own groups, except for the first Sunday of the month when everyone joins in All Age Worship. |

| The Sunday Evening services generally follow a fortnightly format of Sunday Praise and Prayer and Holy Communion. The service allows an opportunity for everyone to worship deeply, and includes a reflective study and occasionally guest speakers. If you like coming together to worship in a friendly and relaxed environment then the Sunday evening service will be right up your alley! | ||||||||||
| Wednesdays offer a more traditional format of service. The service lasts an hour and includes challenging preaching that follows a sermon series, holy communion after the pattern of the book of common prayer and three gentle hymns. Tea, coffee, biscuits and a chance to meet our regulars rounds off a morning well-spent. | ||||||||||
| Every three months, St Andrew's plans for a very special event held in place of the All Age Worship service. Sunday@Stan's portrays a fresh expression on the Christian faith and draws many from the nearby community for forty-five creative minutes. This event is perfect for those who are just wondering what all this 'Christian' stuff is about, as well as all those who'd enjoy rediscovering their faith in an easy to follow format. | St Andrew's has been hosting baptisms, weddings and funerals for almost 150 years, and experience pays off if you want a sensitive ceremony tailored to your needs. Crematoriums and registry offices can be rushed and impersonal places, whereas St Andrew's can help to create a funeral service with more space and time for remembrance, or a wedding steeped in the prayerful and friendly atmosphere fostered by a century and a half of worship. Ian is happy to work with families to make these services - whether special or sorrowful - the best for you and the ones you love. | ||||||||||
